ARAB, Ala. (AP) — A north Alabama teenager is charged in the death of his mother, who died in a house fire last year in Marshall County.

WAFF-TV (http://bit.ly/MgaK9L ) reports that grand jurors indicted 17-year-old Austin Terrell Hartwell of Arab on charges of manslaughter and arson.

Court records aren't yet available to show whether the youth has a lawyer.

Authorities say 48-year-old Debra Hartwell died in during a blaze in her home in November 2011. Her husband Gary was injured as he tried to save the woman.

The teenager will be tried as an adult.
