Suspected gaming hall raided near Tanner

TANNER, Ala. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies raided a suspected illegal gaming hall near Tanner.

WAFF-TV reports that officers found several dozen gaming machines during the Thursday night raid, the culmination of a six-month investigation into suspected illegal gambling.

WAAY-TV reports that the sheriff's department confiscated nine guns, 27 illegal gambling machines, $7,500 and a complex surveillance system.

Detectives said 14 people were inside playing when they arrived, and they arrested one person. Officials have not yet said what charges that person will face.
