Fire hits tornado-damaged Ala town againCORDOVA, Ala. (AP) — Fire has hit a tornado-damaged Alabama town for a third time since the twisters, and the mayor suspects arson. Flames shot into the sky in the Walker County town of Cordova on Sunday evening. The fire was centered in an area that was damaged in the April 2011 storms and has yet to be demolished or repaired. No one was hurt. Mayor Jack Scott says the former Cordova City Hall caught fire, and he believes it might be the work of arsonists. Scott says children were to blame for a fire that occurred in Cordova in June, and flames from a brush fire reached the city before that. |
