(AP) — A Florence man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he left the scene of a wreck that led to the death of a seventh-grade student on Monday night. Authorities say 13-year-old Da'Santo "Tay" Ingram of Florence was pronounced dead at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in front of the child's house. State troopers said the child was struck by a 1984 Chevrolet truck traveling east on Hendrix Road. Authorities said they took a 42-year-old Florence man into custody and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, a felony. The accident remains under investigation. |
