Search on for boat crew member in Mobile Bay

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The Coast Guard has teams searching near the mouth of Mobile Bay for a boat crew member from the Philippines who's believed to have fallen off a container ship.

The Coast Guard says its Dauphin Island station got a call after reports of a crew member in the water around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The 37-year-old man is reportedly dressed in blue coveralls with white stripes and a life jacket.

The man was in charge of recovering the Jacob's ladder after the pilot arrived. The Coast Guard says ship crew members reported the ladder was down and a shoe was found on deck.
