Birmingham police investigate slaying

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Birmingham police say they're investigating a slaying on the city's west side.

WBRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/SbhK6r) that one person was shot to death on Woodland Avenue before 9 p.m. Monday.

Police said late Monday that no arrests had been made.

Few other details were immediately available early Tuesday.
