BAYOU La BATRE, Ala. (AP) — Stan Wright will serve a fourth term as mayor of Bayou La Batre after city officials counted provisional ballots in this month's municipal runoff election.

When votes were counted Oct. 23, Wright held a slim 12-vote lead over former councilman Henry Barnes, making the race too close to call. Thirty provisional ballots were cast in the runoff.

WRKG-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Q4L162) that 16 of the 30 provisional ballots were verified and counted on Tuesday. Wright and former councilman Henry Barnes each received 8 of those votes.

In the end, Wright won with a total of 269 votes while Barnes received 257 votes.
