BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The former owner of a Birmingham strip club has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for filing a false income tax return.

U.S. District Judge Abdul Kallon ordered the sentence Wednesday for 56-year-old Ahmad "Mike" Rahiminejad of Helena. Rahiminejad pleaded guilty to one count in July. He admitted reporting his income for 2006 at nearly $639,000 when it was actually $1.1 million. U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance said Rahiminejad must pay nearly $447,000 in restitution for the tax years 2006 through 2009. He must also serve one year of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.

Rahiminejad operated Mike's Crossroads strip club and other businesses, including the Gold Club and Mike's Citgo 1.
