2 Ala. inmates flee work release, 1 still at large


FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Lauderdale County are still searching for one of two men who escaped from work release.

WAAY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/TI60qm ) that robbery suspect Daniel Allen Davis is still at large after fleeing from work release early Friday morning.

Davis and another inmate, Raymond Gibson, escaped around 5:45 a.m.

Chief Deputy J.R. Witt said Raymond Gibson, who is awaiting a grand jury decision on whether he will be indicted on murder charges, fled with Davis and was back in custody.

WAAY-TV reports that Gibson surrendered to police around 8 a.m.
