DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Two people have been arrested on charges related to grand jury testimony following a deadly police shooting in Dothan.

Fifty-eight-year-old Nancy Young of Dothan is charged with perjury. Fifty-three-year-old Minnie Vickers Pearce of Dothan is charged with disclosing grand jury testimony.

The Dothan Eagle (http://bit.ly/QeFadE) reports that the arrests appear to stem from a fatal shooting by police in June.

Police say 23-year-old Christopher Thomas led officers on a chase that ended in a parking lot. Police say Thomas made a threatening move with his vehicle, and an officer shot him to death.

Thomas' relatives have publicly disputed the police account of the shooting. Thomas' mother, Catherine Thomas, says she believes the arrests are retaliatory.

District Attorney Doug Valeska didn't return a call seeking comment.
