Mobile police investigating fatal shooting

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Mobile are investigating an apparent shooting that left one man dead overnight.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/QYDjuX ) a called reported hearing a gunshot to police at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers arrived at the 3200 block of Dauphin Street and found a man who appeared to be suffering from a bullet wound.

Mobile police Cpl. Christopher Levy says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The slain man's name was not immediately released.

Police continued to investigate Sunday and made no immediate arrests.
