HOLLY POND, Ala. (AP) — A new historical marker will honor the legacy of former Alabama Gov. Guy Hunt in his hometown.

The Hunt Museum plans to formally unveil the marker Sunday, just months after the grand opening of the facility.

Hunt was a native of Holly Pond and served as Alabama's governor from 1987 to 1993. He died in 2009.

Holly Pond Mayor Herman Nail told The Cullman Times (http://bit.ly/UlECi9 ) that the former governor was deserving of the recognition.
