Ex-high school teacher accused of sex with student
HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — A former high school teacher outside Birmingham is accused of having sex with a student.
Hoover police spokesman Capt. Jim Coker tells al.com (http://bit.ly/RVgYyZ) that 33-year-old Stephanie Suggs Millard of Moody is charged with engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19. Millard is a former Spain Park High School teacher.
Authorities say the charges stem from incidents in March and April, and involved a 17-year-old male student who has since graduated and is attending college.
She was being held in the Hoover City Jail awaiting transfer to the Shelby County Jail. Her bond is set at $30,000. It wasn't clear early Friday whether she has an attorney in the case.
