TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Police say a 66-year-old man has been charged with assault after stabbing a man who hit him with a towel at a YMCA in Tuscaloosa. Larry Travis was taken into custody after the victim was stabbed in his chest around 8:20 p.m. Monday. The victim is being treated for a collapsed lung.

OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — The Lee County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a construction accident as 29-year-old Legary Antely Jr., of Smiths Station. Antley was crushed Monday while doing maintenance work on a dump truck. Authorities say the truck's hydraulics equipment failed.

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Officials say a family in Albertville has lost their home and pet puppy in a house fire. The family was able to escape the fire on Sunday, but a puppy that was given to one of the children as a Christmas present died. The fire's cause is under investigation.

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — A 34-year-old man has been arrested in a fatal stabbing that police say stemmed from unreturned movies. Kenny Adams is charged with murder in the death of his cousin, Yancy Foster. Authorities say the two fought in a trailer park over the movies, and Foster was stabbed with a pocket knife Monday afternoon.
