40 arrested in central Alabama drug roundup
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) — A three-county drug investigation in central Alabama has resulted in 40 arrests.
The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board's Drug Task Force announced Thursday that the 40 arrests were made in Macon, Elmore and Tallapoosa counties. Officers in the multi-agency effort also seized 100 grams of marijuana, 60 grams of cocaine, more than 100 pills, eight firearms, four cars and a large amount of cash.
Task force Chief Jeff Rogers said the arrests resulted from officers buying drugs multiple times during an investigation over the last several months.
