HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Police in north Alabama say a man who underwent surgery for a gunshot wound ran from the hospital he was being treated in and was wearing his gown when he was apprehended.

Authorities say 24-year-old Terrance Rogers was wounded in a shooting during a concert at a downtown night club Thursday night. Huntsville Police spokesman Harry Hobbs says Rogers was not arrested in the shooting, but was part of an ongoing investigation and was going to be served with warrants while he was at the hospital.

When Rogers learned police were at the hospital, Hobbs says he fled the facility wearing his gown and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

Rogers has been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.
