MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Carnival season is getting off to a warm start.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/VA9mBB ) that the first parade is rolling out Saturday afternoon on Dauphin Island.

The Krewe De La Dauphine procession starts weeks of pre-Lenten festivities. Those celebrations reach their peak on Fat Tuesday, also called Mardi Gras, on Feb. 12.
