Ala. toddler taken in stolen SUV found safeMIDFIELD, Ala. (AP) — Police in Midfield say toddler who was riding in a stolen SUV has been reunited with her aunt. AL.com reports (http://bit.ly/YqoVP3 ) a woman was dropping children off at a daycare in Brighton Thursday when another woman approached and asked for a ride. When the driver declined, police say the woman pulled a knife on her, stole her purse and fled the scene in a truck with an unidentified man. Police say the victim followed the woman to Midfield and demanded her purse. Officials say the purse-snatcher jumped in the victim's car and drove off with her 3-year-old niece in the back seat. Authorities followed the SUV through several towns and the woman eventually ditched the car — and the toddler — and fled on foot. No arrests have been made. ___ Information from: The Birmingham News, http://www.al.com/birminghamnews |
