Ala. hunter identified in fatal shooting

AUTAUGAVILLE, Ala. (AP) — The Autauga County Coroner says a 54-year-old hunter from Prattville was killed when his gun discharged as he was preparing to leave his hunting stand.

The Montgomery Advertiser (http://on.mgmadv.com/YC9ZNK ) reports Richard Vance Dunn's body was lying near a toppled hunting stand when authorities found him in a wooded area near Autaugaville Monday evening.

Sheriff's officials say the incident is under investigation, and authorities are trying to gather evidence to determine exactly what happened.

Autaugaville is about 25 miles west of Montgomery.
