DECATUR, Ala. (AP) — Morgan County District Court officials say a 20-year-old man who was arrested in the death of his girlfriend's 8-month-old baby kicked the boy off the bed and into a nightstand.

WAFF-TV (http://bit.ly/11dv7eL ) reports 20-year-old Orlandos Deloney told investigators he was frustrated the baby would not stop crying and kicked the child from the bed. Authorities say Deloney smoked marijuana, drank beer and took Tramadol — a pain reliever — while was he was babysitting the child Jan. 29.

Police say the boy's mother was at Decatur General Hospital with another child when Deloney called 911 saying the woman's 8-month-old son fell off the bed. An autopsy revealed the baby's death was not accidental and he died from blunt force trauma.

It is unclear if Deloney has a lawyer.
