DECATUR, Ala. (AP) — Police in Decatur say two women have been arrested after leading police on a chase that ended with a crash.

WAFF-TV (http://bit.ly/YDaG59 ) reports officers tried stopping a car around 2:30 Thursday morning and the driver sped away.

Police say the driver hit two patrol cars, a building and a light post before eventually crashing in a ditch.

Authorities say the women in the car — identified as Crystal Hitt and Shana Gayle Howard — fled on foot and were arrested after a short chase. Neither woman was injured.

Both women are charged with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Hitt is also charged with failure to appear, reckless driving and additional offenses.

It was unclear Thursday afternoon if the women have attorneys.
