MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Montgomery Advertiser has named a new executive editor.
The Advertiser reports (http://on.mgmadv.com/WGl1vR ) that Tom Clifford will join the paper on March 18.
For the past three years, Clifford served as digital media director, then executive news director, at The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C. Before that, he was an editor at Florida Today and the Baltimore Sun.
Clifford said he's looking forward to joining a solid news operation in a diverse city that's rich with history and personality.
Advertiser publisher Samuel Martin said the company is fortunate to have someone of Clifford's caliber to replace the newspaper's retired editor, Wanda Lloyd.
Martin said Clifford's experience will help the Advertiser to develop content that connects people to their communities and informs and inspires readers.
