Ala. troopers say 2 dead in crash near PrattvillePRATTVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Alabama state troopers say two people are dead after a crash between a car and a tractor-trailer on a state highway in Autauga County. Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/12CPR0i ) a Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Highway 14 collided with a Freightliner truck heading the opposite direction. The crash happened Friday afternoon about 25 miles west of Prattville. Authorities say the driver of the car, 75-year-old Thomas Anthony Lovoy of Valley Grande, died after being taken to Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery. Also killed was a passenger in his car, 63-year-old Betty Diamond Lovoy. A 16-year-old passenger in the car was also taken to the Montgomery hospital with injuries but was not immediately identified. State troopers said the driver of the tractor-trailer, 35-year-old Clinton Hope of Selma, was not injured. |
