Jeep overturns in river, woman killed
IRONDALE, Ala. (AP) — A 26-year-old woman is dead after the Jeep she was in overturned while crossing the Cahaba River.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office tells al.com (http://bit.ly/ZcitaL ) that Kari Danna Thomas was trapped and drowned on Saturday night after the vehicle became submerged.
Thomas was among a group of people who were off-roading in a remote area of Irondale off Floyd Bradford Road.
Emergency crews from the Irondale and Leeds Police and Fire Departments and the Trussville Dive Team responded to the scene.
