MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A 40-year-old Phenix City man has been found guilty of drug trafficking and could be sentenced to life in prison.

U.S. Attorney's officials Thursday said Shedrick Hollis will likely be sentenced within the next three months. Officials say U.S. Marshals sought to arrest Hollis in February 2011 for violating parole on charges of distributing and trafficking cocaine from Georgia.

When police found Hollis at a house in Phenix City in March 2011, they recovered a loaded shotgun a large amount of marijuana and scales. Police obtained a search warrant and later found a large amount of crack and powder cocaine, marijuana, a drug similar to Ecstasy and $5,000 in cash.

U.S. Attorney's spokeswoman Bertha Moore says Hollis will likely be sentenced within the next three months.
