Police say at least 40 rounds were fired during a gun battle outside a Birmingham motorcycle club that killed two people and wounded two others.

Authorities say the shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday outside Showstoppers Motorcycle Club on Coosa Street.

Police tell Al.com that one man was pronounced dead at the scene. Another died at UAB Hospital.

Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said a third person was hospitalized at UAB Hospital and expected to survive. He said a fourth gunshot victim showed up at Princeton Baptist Medical Center with an injury Edwards described as a graze wound.

Police said the scene was chaotic, and shell casings spanned almost an entire block.

Edwards said the investigation is in its early stages, and no arrests have been made.
