Alabama Supreme Court clerk retiring

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The longtime clerk of the Alabama Supreme Court, Bob Esdale, is planning to retire after nearly 30 years in the job.

Chief Justice Roy Moore said Friday that Esdale plans to step down June 30.

Moore calls Esdale "a great and honorable clerk" and says he has enjoyed serving with Esdale during both terms as chief justice.
