BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The leader of a drug trafficking ring in north Alabama has been sentenced to 30 years and five months in prison.

U.S. District Judge Karon Bowdre ordered the sentence Friday for 34-year-old Kingy Ossarius Holden of Toney. He was convicted in August of conspiracy to possess and distribute more than 2,200 pounds of marijuana, four counts of distributing marijuana, and one count of being a felon in possession of a handgun.

U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance says a leading drug trafficker is now off the street. Eleven others were either convicted or pleaded guilty in connection with the case.
