Storms likely across Alabama on Easter

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Forecasters say there's a possibility of storms across Alabama on Easter ahead of a cold front that will bring rain chances all week.

The National Weather Service says some storms could become severe on Sunday, but they're not predicting a major outbreak of violent weather.

Forecasters say storms will move into the state from the north ahead of a cold front that's sinking into the lower Mississippi valley.

Hail and strong, gusty winds are possible, along with some locally heavy downpours.

The rain could help extinguish wildfires that have been plaguing parts of southwest Alabama, particularly in Washington County.
