OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — Police in Opelika are investigating a double stabbing that claimed the life of one man and left his brother injured.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/10otLcn) that the violence happened around 6 p.m. Sunday at the Brookhaven Trailer Park on Hurst Street.

Opelika police say several individuals were involved in an altercation, which subsequently led to the stabbings.

Richard Young, a resident of the park, said he was sitting on his porch when he heard a "commotion" down the street. He said he went to see what had happened and saw two men lying on the ground, bleeding.

Police said 35-year-old Gregory Antoni Moody was killed and his brother, 28-year-old William Herbert Moody Dowdell, was injured.

Interim Police Chief Ed Clark said the injured man was "alert enough that he's talking to my officers."
