Ala. man vows appeal to keep wife's grave in yard
STEVENSON, Ala. (AP) — A northeast Alabama man is vowing to fight a state appeals court ruling saying he must move his wife's grave from his front yard in Stevenson.
The Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/XkhuXr ) that Jim Davis says he plans to appeal the decision by the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. He says: "I won't quit until everything is exhausted."
Davis buried his wife, Patsy, in their front yard after her death in 2009. The city contends the grave is illegal and wants him move it to a cemetery.
A Jackson County judge sided with the city in saying Davis should move his wife's body, and the appeals court Friday declined to overturn that decision.
Davis' next step would be to appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court.
