PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) — A 29-year-old bus driver in northern Alabama has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a student.

St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor says Aleah Love, of Riverside, is being held on $100,000 bond. Love was once employed by the Pell City Board of Education and was placed on administrative leave Friday.

Minor tells The Daily Home (http://bit.ly/10EhIce ) the alleged sex acts did not happen on a school bus or on school grounds. Minor says the alleged sexual contact happened off campus and while Love was off duty. Minor says the woman was arrested Monday.

A school employee engaging in sex acts with a student under the age of 19 is a felony punishable by between two and 20 years in prison. It's unclear if Love has an attorney.
