MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama-based paint manufacturer has been given 10 safety and health citations from federal labor officials.

The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Ozark Materials LLC after two workers were injured on the job within a month at its plant in Mount Meigs — east of Montgomery.

Spokeswoman Lindsay Williams says an inspection in December revealed one worker suffered a broken arm and another suffered a cut because of unguarded equipment.

Federal officials have proposed $41,600 in penalties against the dry powder paint manufacturer. Williams says the company may pay the penalty, request a conference with a regional Occupational Safety and Health Administration director, or contest the findings before review commission.
