2 die on motorcycle, shutting down part of I-65

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say two people riding on a motorcycle were killed in a crash that shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 in the Birmingham area.

AL.com reports (http://bit.ly/10k9KbY) that early-morning commuters on Thursday were backed up along I-65, reaching back toward Fultondale. The southbound interstate was closed near Daniel Payne Drive as authorities investigate the wreck.

Few other details were immediately available early Thursday.
