TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A Stillman College student has been arrested in a shooting that left another student hospitalized.

Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Lt. Kip Hart tells the Tuscaloosa News (http://bit.ly/15fJ10M ) 21-year-old Elgerondo Williams and the 19-year-old victim argued about a bet over a video game before a shooting in a residence hall Tuesday.

Hart says the victim was shot twice in his torso and Williams later surrendered to campus police. Hart says the victim is in stable condition.

Williams, who has been expelled from the college, is charged with attempted murder and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County jail on $30,000.

In a statement Sharon Whittaker-Davis, vice president for student affairs, says Stillman College has not had any violent crimes in the past 13 and the school has a zero-tolerance weapons policy.
