$1M bond for Selma teacher in obscenity case
SELMA, Ala. (AP) — Bond is set at $1 million for a Selma High School teacher arrested on sex-related charges.
Police arrested 36-year-old health teacher LaTengela Williams at the school on Friday.
Williams is charged with having images of a juvenile engaged in obscene acts and having sexual contact with a student. Williams also is charged with enticing a minor for immoral purposes and solicitation of a child.
The Selma Times-Journal (http://bit.ly/13pbmOo ) quotes authorities as saying the allegations involve more than one student.
Court records aren't yet available to show whether Williams has a defense attorney.
Police say they didn't notify education officials before arresting Williams on campus. They took her into custody near the end of the school day to avoid disrupting classes.
