Authorities investigating death of Ala. toddler


OXFORD, Ala. (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy in Oxford.

Oxford police Lt. L.G. Owens tells the Anniston Star ( ) authorities responded to a call about an unresponsive child Friday morning and took the toddler to the Regional Medical Center in Anniston where he was pronounced dead.

The boy's body is being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery where an autopsy will be performed on Monday.

Owens says authorities have not launched a criminal investigation into the unidentified boy's death.
