Reward offered for tips in Ala. woman's death

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a woman's 2012 stabbing death in northern Alabama.

Sharon Wellington, originally from South Carolina, was found dead in her Athens apartment in November. WAFF-TV reports (http://bit.ly/18wlOaK ) police have not filed charges against the only person of interest who was questioned in connection with the woman's death and the case has gone cold.

Tipsters are asked to call Athens police at (256)-232-0111.
