Alabama governor speaks at Troy commencement


TROY, Ala. (AP) — Gov. Robert Bentley told Troy University graduates they should stick to their core values and principles when they have to make tough decisions.

Bentley spoke at the graduation ceremony Friday. Bentley told the graduates that President Abraham Lincoln is one of his favorite historical figures. He said Lincoln believed the union should be preserved and he did everything he could to make sure that happened.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/15V7gCK ) that Friday's graduating class was the largest ever for Troy, with 910 diplomas awarded. About 650 of those participated in commencement, representing 27 states and 14 countries.
