FORESTDALE, Ala. (AP) — Jefferson County Sheriff's officials say a man has been charged with attempted murder for pointing a gun at three deputies.

Sheriff's spokesman Randy Christian says a woman called to report a domestic dispute Thursday and said her 24-year-old husband Jason Allen Hill assaulted her. She told authorities Hill also threatened their son.

Authorities say the woman drove to a substation and left the boy in his crib in her rush to get away from Hill.

Christian says deputies found the boy unattended in his crib and Hill returned to the house while authorities were there. Christian says Hill pulled a gun when he was asked to put his hands up.

Hill is being held without bond in the Jefferson County jail and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
