VALLEY, Ala. (AP) — Valley police are seeking help from the public as they investigate the sexual assault of a 91-year-old woman in her home.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/10EZ81w) that police and paramedics responded to the woman's home at 8:44 p.m. Saturday.

Valley Police Chief Tommy Weldon said the woman was locking her doors and saw the suspect standing on her back porch when she went to lock the back door.

Police say the suspect asked to come inside and use her phone, and she refused. Authorities say he then forced his way inside her home and assaulted her.
