CLANTON, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing on an Alabama highway in the Clanton area.

WBRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/16kjipp) that the plane landed around 9 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 31, near the Russell Do-it Center hardware store.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the pilot was forced to make the landing because of a mechanical problem. He got his aircraft fixed, turned the plane around and flew to the Chilton County airport.
