22 charged in Alabama drug trafficking case

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Huntsville say more than 20 people have been arrested for their involvement in a drug trafficking operation.

Authorities said Tuesday that 20 people were arrested and two others have been charged for their involvement in overlapping drug rings operating the Tennessee Valley.

Investigators say federal and local authorities performed an undercover operation last year to learn the inner workings of the drug rings.

WBRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/11g8SEl) the suspects were trafficking crack and powder cocaine in Madison and Morgan counties.
