OHATCHEE, Ala. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged an Ohatchee man with capital murder in the 2009 slaying of a man whose body was found the day after Christmas.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/18qiCMK ) 32-year-old Michael William Kiser was arraigned in Calhoun County Circuit Court after being arrested last week. He's charged in the shooting death more than three years ago of 47-year-old Donald Atwater Cameron.

Cameron was found dead in his Ohatchee home on Dec. 26, 2009, after he failed to arrive at his mother's house in New Jersey for a planned holiday visit and didn't answer his phone.

Attorney General Luther Strange's office says prosecutors are seeking the death penalty because Kiser entered the victim's home "to commit a theft or felony crime."

It was not known Saturday if Kiser had a defense attorney.
