Water spout moves across Mobile Bay; no damage

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Mobile residents got a scare as a large water spout moved across Mobile Bay within sight of downtown.

The National Weather Service says the water spout was visible about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday before dissipating over the water.

The funnel didn't cross on to land, and authorities aren't reporting any damage.

Numerous people snapped photos of the water spout from land and shared them through social media.
