Mobile home fire kills 3 in Alabama


PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) — Three family members are dead following a mobile home fire in east Alabama.

The Daily Home ( ) reports the blaze occurred in the St. Clair County town of Pell City.

Sheriff Terry Surles says the mobile home was engulfed in flames when deputies arrived about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Coroner Dennis Russell says Thomas Devillier and his 9-year-old son Joseph were able to get out.

But the man lost his wife, 39-year-old Patricia Bressett; a 6-year-old son, Thomas Devillier Jr.; and his mother, 68-year-old Grace Devillier.

The sheriff says the man did all he could to save the others from the blaze.

Authorities suspect an electrical problem caused the fire.
