Arraignment halted for man accused in girl's death
GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) — The arraignment for a man accused in the death of his 20-month-old daughter has been postponed until he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.
The Gadsden Times reported Friday (http://bit.ly/1bylITX ) that a judge ordered Stephon Lindsay to undergo a psychiatric evaluation April 11. Alabama Department of Mental Health Commissioner Jim Reddoch says he's unsure of how long it will take for that to be completed.
The 35-year-old man was arrested March 12 after his daughter's body was found at the end of a dead-end road days after she was last seen by her mother.
Authorities have said it appeared that the girl was killed with a dagger or sword.
