TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Tuscaloosa police say two burglary suspects have been arrested after they tried ramming an officer with the car they were riding in.
Lt. Kip Hart tells AL.com (http://bit.ly/11oaISC ) police were investigating a burglary Sunday morning and two men tried fleeing the scene as authorities approached.
Hart says the men drove toward police and responding officers fired at them before a short car chase.
After the men were arrested, Hart says investigators found evidence that the house had been broken into before police arrived.
Authorities say 26-year-old Marcus Johnson and 19-year-old Zhalil Ware were charged with burglary and possession of a burglar's tools. Police say Johnson is also charged with attempted murder for trying to run over police and two counts of reckless endangerment.
It's unclear if the men have lawyers.
