Body of missing Ala. woman found in trash bin

OXFORD, Ala. (AP) — Police say the body of a missing Birmingham woman has been recovered and the suspect in her death has been arrested in Georgia.

Authorities say the body of 20-year-old Sara Mitchell was found in a trash bin Sunday evening in Oxford.

Oxford Police Chief Pat Brown told the Anniston Star that an employee of a nearby pharmacy found the woman's body when while taking out the trash.

Mitchell was reported missing by a relative Wednesday and investigators say an autopsy will determine her cause of death.

Police say a 23-year-old Birmingham man was arrested in connection with the woman's death at a rest stop in Haralson County, Ga. and will be extradited to Alabama.

Haralson County is about 50 miles east of Oxford, and 110 miles from Birmingham.
