MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Police in Montgomery say the suspect in a shooting at Faulkner University has been charged with attempted murder.

Montgomery County jail records say 37-year-old Reginald Dynell Brown is being held on $516,000 bond after shooting a contract maintenance worker at the university Tuesday afternoon. Brown was arrested soon afterward.

Aside from attempted murder, Brown is also charged with domestic violence and unauthorized use of a firearm.

School officials have said the incident was domestic in nature and no students were involved. Police didn't offer details on the relationship between Brown and the woman, whose identity hasn't been released.

Officials said the woman's condition has been upgraded from critical to stable.

It's unclear if Brown has an attorney.
